 Outdoor Adventures 2014-2015 



Outdoor Adventures (OA) invites you to enhance your university experience by embracing your adventurous side.  Our goal is to provide the University community with adventure programming that will allow you to tap into your adventurous side and “live in the moment.”  Through these programs we provide challenges and experiences to all participants that aide in individual and group development.  Our mission is to provide recreational opportunities to the University community that enhances the academic, recreational and leisure experiences of all community members.

Programs fill quickly!  Register in the office during open hours.  Space is limited, first come, first serve.
SRU Voluntary Activity Waiver: For all programs each participant is required to agree to and sign an assumption of risk waiver form.
Health History Form: Select programs require each participant to complete the Health History questionnaire.  Forms are available online (CR Website) for review. > sports > athletics > arc
Registration Deadline: Each program has a registration deadline
Registration Available:
Fall Semester Programs-starting August 26
Spring Semester Programs-starting November 1

Payment, in full, is required at registration to secure participation.  Payment options: cash, check, debit, Visa, Master Card, Discover, Rock Dollars.

Refund Policy
Refunds will only be issued to participants who request refund 2 weeks prior to registration deadline.  A refund may be given after this time if a replacement can be secured from the trip’s waiting list.
If program or trip is canceled, by OA, full refunds will be issued to trip participants, as soon as possible.

Pre-Trip Meetings
Some OA programs require participant attendance to a pre-trip meeting.  Pre-trip meetings are mandatory for trip participants.

Inherent Risk
All participants must understand that there are risks, hazards and dangers associated with OA Programs.  Prior to participating, All participants required are to sign “SRU Voluntary Activity Waiver.”  Minors under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign.

Program Difficulty
By nature, most OA programs are physically and psychologically demanding.  Our program design and leadership techniques greatly minimize the risk involved, however, it is important to know that all adventure programs have inherent risk that cannot be eliminated.  Most of our programs require no prior experience and focus on basic skills and techniques in each activity area.

Program Eligibility
Programs are available to SRU Students, Faculty, Staff, ARC Members, and the Slippery Rock Community.
Youth ages 14-17 are permitted on OA programs with parent or guardian accompaniment.  Both the youth and guardian must register for OA program for youth to participate.

Weather Conditions
Adventure programs and trips rely upon suitable environment conditions.  Trips/programs may be canceled based on poor or unsuitable conditions.

Some adventure programs may include transportation.  Programs that do not include transportation will begin and end at specified locations and times.

Sun: Noon-11 pm

Play is prohibited at the MAC (McFarland Recreational Sports Complex) when the RED FLAG is flying. The MAC will be closed from December 1-March 1.

When the University is on a 2 hour delay due to weather, the ARC will not open up until 10:00 a.m..
