Informal Recreation Climbing Options
Informal Recreation Climbing is FREE to SRU students, ARC members and Daily Guest Pass holders during regular ARC hours of operation. Informal Recreation offers the option for Top-Rope Climbing or Bouldering during all hours the ARC is open.
Top-Rope Climbing: Climb with a rope system and belayer. Staffed hours only.
Bouldering: Climb without a rope system, height limit~12 feet, available during all ARC hours.
Informal Recreation Staffed Hours
Semester: Daily 3-9 p.m.
Summer: Monday-Friday 4-7 p.m.
Breaks: Bouldering only

Belay Education and Approval Availability
Check the wall for the current class and testing schedule. Minimum belay age is 16 years old.
Youth Participation: A parent/legal guardian must directly supervise at all times for climbers under the age of 12.
All participants must understand that there are risks, hazards and dangers associated with indoor rock climbing. Prior to climbing, all climbers are required to sign a Climbing Wall Agreement/Release. Minors under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign.
Mile High Challenge
Overview: Climb 5,280 feet over the fall semester, 132 times to the top of the wall, and receive a "Mile High Club T-shirt".

Climbing Competition (Bouldering)
Overview: This competition provides the opportunity for climbers of all experience levels to compete against climbers from other colleges and climbing facilities.
Date: November 17
Times: 1 p.m.-3 p.m.
Registration Deadline: Noon- 1 p.m. on Sunday, November 17
Spring Semester (University Bouldering Series)
Date: February 22
Times: 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
Registration Deadline: 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 22

AMGA Climbing Wall Instructor Course
Overview: Learn fundamental technical and teaching skills necessary to manage an instructional program at a climbing facility.
Pre-requisite: Experience required.
Days: Friday, Saturday and Sunday
