Sara Kovacs was awarded the 2012-2013 McFarland Award as the outstanding Campus Recreation student employee. Sara received the award as she best exhibited the characteristics of teamwork, participation, leadership and enthusiasm displayed by Dr. James McFarland during his SRU tenure as a professor, Coordinator of Intramural Sports and coach. The five finalists for the award were those who were recognized as the outstanding student employee in their respective area. In addition to Sara, the five finalists were Ben Tawney (Aquatics), Jessica Hall (Intramurals), Taylor Ford (Outdoor Adventures) and Blaze Foster (Welcome Center). For more info click Award.

F. Summer Youth Certificate (Youth Ages 10-15 whose parents are ARC Members)
The student must participate in three orientations and pass the fitness test to use the RWFC with the parent ARC Member present to supervise at all times.

Freshman Outdoor Adventure Experience (FOAE)
Campus Recreation is accepting registration from the fall 2013 freshman class for the Freshman Outdoor Adventure Experience (FOAE). The program will be conducted from Sunday, Aug
ust 18-Wednesday, August 21 offering incoming Slippery Rock University freshman the opportunity to participate in adventure based activities while meeting fellow students. This 4 day adventure program exposes participants to a variety of outdoor activities allowing participants to become oriented to the SRU campus , meet campus personnel while fostering an environment for personal and group growth. The cost is $120.00 per person and includes lodging and meals. For additional information click on the following information:
