SPOTLIGHT

FALL 2013 AND SPRING 2014 SEMESTERS AQUATIC PROGRAMS
Strokes/Starts/Turns Clinics (Ages 8+):
Weekly preseason clinics will be conducted in conjunction with the start of the swim season. Concentration will be strokes, starts, and turns.

Sessions/Semesters: Fall 9/7, 14, 28; 10/12
Days: Sat
Time: 10:30-Noon
Member Fee: $10/Stroke
Non-Member fee: $15/Stroke

Swim Instructions (Ages 13 and up): This program is designed for teens and adults interested in improving their swimming skills. Each lesson is 30 minutes.

Youth Swim Instructions (Ages 3-12): Skill level determined at first class. 
Levels 1 Intro to Water Skills-
Helps develop positive attitudes, good swimming habits, and safe practices around the water.
Level 2 Fundamentals of Aquatic Skills-
Gives success with fundamental skills.  Learn to float and recover to a vertical position.
Level 3 Stroke Development-
Builds on skills from Level 2 and develops strokes through additional guided practice in deeper water.  
Academic Year Sessions: August 27-December 4, January 28-May 1 (Four week sessions)

Time: 5-6:00 p.m.
Saturday Academic Year Sessions: April 5-26
Days: Saturdays
Time: 11 a.m.-noon
Member Fee: $30/Session

ROCK Fit Youth (Ages 10-15
-15): Instructional weight training course designed specifically for youth/teens with a minimum height of 4’10” focusing on using correct lifting procedures and the five fitness components; flexibility, body composition, cardiovascular conditioning, muscular strength and endurance.

Academic Year four week sessions between August 27-December 4 and January 28-May 1
Days and Times: Monday and Wednesday 2:30-3:30 p.m.
Tuesday and Thursday 2:30-3:30 p.m.
Member Fee: $20.00
Non Member Fee: NA


SUMMER 2014 AQUATIC PROGRAMS
Registration deadline is the Thursday before the start of the class. Advanced registration and payment required. Private Lessons conducted by outside instructors are prohibited. Summer aquatic programs will not be conducted the week of June 30-July 4 due to the Independence Day holiday.

Private Lessons: Campus Recreation offers a variety of private lessons for youth and adult by appointment only. Each lesson is 30 minutes.

Strokes/Starts/Turns (Ages 8 and up): Class offers opportunity for swimmers to improve Back, Breast, butterfly and Freestyle strokes, starts and turns.

SUMMER 2014 FITNESS PROGRAMS
ROCK Fit Youth (Ages 10-15):
Instructional weight training course designed specifically for youth/teens with a minimum height of 4’10” focusing on using correct lifting procedures and the five fitness components; flexibility, body composition, cardiovascular conditioning, muscular strength and endurance. Completion of this class enable you to use the RWFC during the summer for an addition $10.00 with the parent who is a current ARC Member.

Tuesday/Thursday 11 a.m.-noon
Member Fee: $20.00
Non Member Fee: NA

Summer Youth Certificate (Ages 10-15): Youth whose parents are a current ARC Member are eligible for this program that enables youth to use the RWFC during summer hours. The student must participate in three orientations and pass the fitness test. Adult ARC Members must supervise youth in RWFC.

SUMMER 2014 TENNIS TORUNAMENT

McFarland Youth Tennis Tournament:
Boys and Girls divisions for ages 12 and under and 14 and under. JUSTAS sanctioned tournament. Registration on line at SUTRA website.

Play is prohibited at the MAC (McFarland Recreational Sports Complex) when the RED FLAG is flying. The MAC will be closed from December 1-March 1.
