This organization will be known as the Slippery Rock University Shamrock Men’s Rugby Club.
The purpose of the Slippery Rock University Shamrock Men’s Rugby Club will be to represent the University in the Allegheny Rugby Union.
Membership will be open to any male who is an undergraduate or graduate student at Slippery Rock University and who participates in all team practice sessions.
The formal officers of the Slippery Rock University Shamrock Men’s Rugby Club will be President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Captain.
The titles of the officers will be President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Captain.
Qualifications for officer positions will be class standing of sophomore or higher and good academic standing (i.e., cumulative quality point average of 2.0 or higher).
The duties of the President will be:
(a). To preside over all club meetings as required.
(b). To assist the Captain in any way and correspond all team activities to its Faculty Advisor.
The duties of the Vice-President will be:
(a). To assume all duties of the President in the event of the President’s absence.
The duties of the Treasurer will be:
(a). To keep accurate records of the team’s budget.
The duties of the Secretary will be:
(a). To schedule all matches and games, including times and locations.
(b). To confirm all matches and games.
(c). To communicate with the Rugby Union and other teams.
The duties of the Captain will be:
(a). To direct the rugby team on the playing and practicing fields.
(b). To attend all league meetings.
The procedure to remove an officer will be to bring the matter to the club membership for a vote. It will take a two-thirds vote for removal.
The procedure for filling a vacancy will be to meet the requirements already stated in Article IV, Section II. Majority vote wins.
Officer elections will be held during the fall semester.
There will be no regular club meetings. There will be four team practices held each week during the season. Special club meetings will be called at the discretion of the President and will be made known through all available campus media.
The team must be represented by at least two-thirds of its members to conduct meetings.
Financing for the club will come from the Cooperative Activities Office through the Student Government Association.
The team’s finances are to be administered by the Treasurer in consultation with the Faculty Advisor.
There will be no standing committees.
Amendments to the Constitution may be made by a two-thirds vote of the voting quorum.
Ratification of this Constitution will be made by a two-thirds vote of the voting quorum.
