SPOTLIGHT

All staff members are required to meet strict regulations regarding training and experience according to the nationally accreditation, and license by the Department of Public Welfare and the Department of Education

Two full-time employees, a Director and an Assistant Director, staff the Preschool and Child Care Center.  Both of these employees are required to have a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development or a related field.  We also, normally, employ a Graduate Assistant through the University. 

Teacher's Bios:

Katie Stanley:   My name is Katie Stanley. I have been employed at SRU/SGA Preschool as the Assistance Director since November 2006.  I Graduated from SRU with my Bachelors in Elementary Education in 2005 and went on to receive my Masters in Elementary Education/Early Childhood from Edinboro University in 2009. I am blessed to have this teaching position and love everyday with the children.

Julia Parenti:   My name is Julia Parenti.  I am from Slippery Rock, Pa and am 1 of 7 children.  In 2002 I graduated from SRHS then went on to graduate from SRU in 2006 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education.  I continued my education in 2007 when I finished my Masters in Elementary Math and Science.  I also have my Post Bacc in Early Childhood Education from SRU, which I received in 2009.  I first started working at the SRU SGA Child Care Center in 2003 as an undergraduate and became a full employee in October of 2007.  Outside of work I enjoy Zumba, Yoga, Bootcamp, and working out at the ARC.  I am currently debating taking my Praxis test for Middle School Math and Middle School Science and/or going back to school for my Doctorate in Curriculum and Instructional Assessment.
