Guidelines 

  • In order to be eligible for this process you must have done Phase 1: Complete the online agreement and pay $175 advance deposit AND chosen your roommates during Phase 2.
     
  • You and your intended roommates must be current on campus students to participate.
     
  • You must complete an online application and be approved for the appropriate LLC floor in order to qualify to live in one of the Living-Learning Communities.
     
  • Each LLC community has its own criteria for applicants.  Please review these on the LLC web page by clicking here.
     
  • You must be able to fill all beds in the room in order to be an active part of this selection process.
     
    • Therefore, if you are looking at a double room, you must select 1 and only 1 roommate. If you have not selected a roommate at all OR if you have more than 1 roommate, you will not be able to choose a double room.
       
  • LLC acceptance notifications will be send on Feb 8 to your SRU e-mail account.

Phase 3 LLC Room Selection

IMPORTANT TROUBLESHOOTING TIP FOR ROOM SELECTION DAY:
 

  • As the room selection goes along, there will be less and less rooms available of certain types, therefore, you may run in to the problem of having 4 people in your group but no rooms that hold 4 people, if this happens you may need to divide your group up. In order to do this, we have provided further instructions:
     
    • Talk with your group AS A WHOLE, decide who will room with whom. Remember, when you remove people as your roommate, they are informed of this through e-mail.
       
    • When you have decided how your group will split up, you can log in to MyHousing at any time.
       
    • Move mouse over Room Selection.
       
    • Choose Roommate Selection
       
    • Click Remove, next to the roommates you want to remove. This will automatically send an e-mail to the student you have removed.
       
    • Everyone in your group will have to do this correctly in order for all of your roommate requests to match.
       
    • Log back into Room Selection and you will see the now available to your “new group”
  • ONE person needs to log in to MyHousing beginning Feb 19 at Common Hour (12:30pm)
     
  • Using the navigation bar on the left of the screen, choose Room Selection
     
  • Click Find Available Rooms
     
  • Select the room you want by clicking on Select Room next to the room you want.
    • **If you dont see the room type you want, refer to the above trouble-shooting tip
  • If the room your group is choosing is a suite, you will be directed to a page where you will use the drop down boxes to choose who will be assigned to each bed.  Make sure to assign each person one bed.
  • Once you are finished, click the Submit Room Selection button.
     
  • No Changes can be made after clicking the Submit Room Selection button.
     
  • An e-mail will be automatically sent to each member of your group telling them that a room has been chosen.

Feb. 4 Agreement, Deposit ($175) & LLC due (Phase 1)
Feb. 8 LLC Acceptance Notifications (Phase 1)
Feb. 12 Single Room Selection (both LLC and general) begins at Common Hour (12:30 pm)
Feb. 13 - 18 LLC Roommate Selection begins at 8 am
Feb. 19 LLC Room Selection begins at common hour (12:30pm)
Feb. 23 - 27 General Roommate Selection (Phase 2) begins at 8 am
Feb. 28 3 & 4 person (Res. Suites & Trad Halls) Room Selection begins at Common Hour (12:30pm)(Phase 3)
Mar. 1 - 4 Regroup roommate request to participate in 2 person room selection
Mar. 5 2 person (Res. Suites & Trad Halls) Room Selection begins at Common Hour (12:30pm)(Phase 3)
