Dear Slippery Rock University Student:
Each year, Slippery Rock University has honored students at the Academic Honors Convocation who have been recognized by the Corporation for National Service. These students who have received recognition have earned an overall grade point average of 3.5 or higher and have volunteered a minimum of 100 hours of registered service with the Center for Student Involvement & Leadership and CompassLink.
In order to be recognized at the Academic Honors Convocation, students who meet these qualifications need to register all of their 100 hours of volunteered service through the CompassLink system by February 1 of each academic year. In order to register these hours, students can take the follow steps:
Log in using a SRU e-mail address and password
Click “Service Hours” under the “My Involvement” tab
Under “Organizations” select “Community Service – NOT affiliated with…”
Select the date, enter the project name, the duration of time spent volunteering (H:MM) and enter a contact name
The service counter should will then display the total amount of time spent volunteering on the “Pending Hours” counter
If you are a student meeting these qualifications, we highly encourage you to register your hours through the Center for Student Involvement & Leadership and the CompassLink system so that you can receive your recognition. We truly appreciate your participation and we thank you for your commitment to serving your community.
