Care Breaks are extended service-learning experiences held over Fall, Winter, and Spring Break that give students the opportunity to travel to places in need across the United States and the world.
Since 1994, over 1200 SRU students, faculty, and staff have spent 200,000+ hours in 19 US cities and seven countries tutoring children, building low-income housing, assisting the homeless and hungry, protecting the environment, and creating Slippery Rock University's international reputation as a place where students develop a strong ethic of service.
Past destinations have included Homes for Hope in South Carolina, the Nature Conservancy in Georgia, the Mescalero Apache Center in New Mexico, and many other places all around the United States!
