Share your passion pour le français with French students at the secondary level.  Learning a foreign language opens doors for your students and will teach them how to communicate and provide an appreciation of French culture.


As a graduate of the Secondary Education World Languages: French program at SRU, you will be qualified to teach French in grades K-12.  You will gain the tools you'll need to run a successful classroom -a solid foundation in educational principles and theory, and a robust curriculum in French language, culture, and literature.

What Will You Learn?

Upon graduation, our broad curriculum will make you a standout candidate.  You'll learn how to design a classroom curriculum, use the latest teaching technology, meet the needs of diverse students, and become an expert in French.  In addition to your coursework, SRU offers study abroad programs in France, as well as opportunities for student teaching both locally and abroad.


Upon graduation, you will be certified to teach French to students in grades K-12. A career in teaching offers stability, a good income, and most importantly, opportunities to positively influence class after class of students.
