Indigo is the title of the latest fiber art exhibition presented at the SGA Student Art Gallery. This exhibition is a result of the 6th annual international collaboration between the fiber art studios at Slippery Rock University and Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, Poland. The collaboration took place in spring 2019 semester. Students in both studios created artworks applying indigo color or other blues. This collection presents a wide range of artistic expressions. Most compositions are based on 4 squares, 6in x 6in, and are made of layered materials. For this project, the SRU Art Students used the indigo natural dye with which they experimented in the spring.
This exhibition was presented in Poland in June/July 2019.
Barbara Westman, Associate professor of Fiber Art and Printmaking, has initiated this first international collaboration in the Art Department in 2013. Currently, we are in the seventh year of this project.

The opening reception is on Monday Sept. 9, 5 - 6:30pm.
The exhibition dates are: 9/9 – 9/20, 2019
