Masculinity and mental health panel

When we think of mental health, we often think of women and of white people, whether we are conscious of it or not. In this panel, we seek to highlight and deconstruct capitalist notions of masculinity in mental health discourse within an intersectional context; to discuss masculinity and mental health as culturally shaped; and to consider what factors might impede the access of boys and men, especially if they are marginalized, to recognize, acknowledge and/or respond to depression or anxiety, for instance.
