Student Organization Summer Planning Guide
Student organizations are encouraged to continue meeting and engaging members through virtual formats. Below are several resources that may assist you in conducting business and hosting virtual events.
Virtual Event Scheduling
Thinking about hosting a virtual event for your members or the campus community? In efforts to create a streamlined events process, the University has developed a set of guidelines for scheduling virtual events available here. Additionally, all student organization events should be submitted via CORE and additionally to the University events calendar.
Online Event Locations
Though in-person meetings are cancelled for the remainder of the semester, it is still important to continue to engage your organization. A new feature on CORE is Online Event Locations, which allows you to add your meetings, virtual events and more to your CORE page with the online platform you will be utilizing.
As the year winds down, the transition of leadership within your organization can be a stressful process. Online Elections for next year’s leadership can be held virtually via your organization’s CORE page.
The CORE Street Team has generously dedicated time to do Zoom consultations with your organization to help ease any anxiety and answer any questions you may have. To sign-up for one of these consultations, please click here.
Zoom Pro Account
Zoom video conferencing software is a great tool for hosting virtual events and meetings. All students have access to the Zoom Pro account, meaning you get additional features for hosting meetings. To access the Pro features, go to https://sru.zoom.us/ and log-in with your SRU username and password.
