SRU earns national ranking for online master’s degrees in math

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - AffordableSchools.net, a college rankings site centering on unique and affordable academic programs, has named Slippery Rock University among its top 25 most affordable online master's of mathematics/statistics degree programs.

SRU, the only State System school on the list, was ranked eighth. The top three schools on the list are: Regent University, Virginia Beach, VA, first; Western Governors University, Salt Lake City, UT, second; and North Greenville University, Tigerville, SC, third.

SRU's graduate programs in this category include: elementary education: K-8 math and science; secondary education: teaching math and science (9-12); and graduate certificates in applied research, statistics and measurement; and alternatives: MS data analytics.

Rankings were compiled with data from the National Center for Education Statistics, a bureau of the U.S. Department of Education. Parameters used to compile the rankings included: graduate institutions that grant degrees and/or certificates in mathematics/statistics education on a distance basis; sorted institutions by increasing out-of-state tuition; filtered out doctoral-level-only colleges; and filtered for active online degree programs.
