SRU’s online math degree earns national ranking

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Slippery Rock University's online Master of Science in Data Analytics degree has been ranked among the top 28 online math programs for 2017 by accreditedschoolsonline.org .

The program was the lone State System school to appear on the list. The top three schools on the list are: University of Massachusetts-Lowell, Texas A&M and Harvard University.

To be considered for the rankings, schools were required to meet the following criteria:
-Be accredited at the institutional level.
-Be a private nonprofit or public school.
-Have a minimum of one online bachelor's or master's degree in a given subject area.

Schools were then scored on factors including:
-Cost and financial aid.
-Number and variety of program offerings.
-Student-teacher ratio.
-Graduation rates.
-Placement and support services offered.
