SRU’s Cooke earns NCTRC board position


Colleen Cooke, a Slippery Rock University professor of recreational therapy, has been elected to the board of directors for the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification. The term is for three years.

The NCTRC board of directors is responsible for deciding upon the standards required for achieving therapeutic recreation certification.

Cooke, who joined SRU in 1997, earned a bachelor of science in therapeutic recreation from SRU, a master of education in counseling from the University of Pittsburgh and a doctorate in healthcare education from Nova Southeastern University.
