Edwards' displays art at Heinz History Center

Nov. 8, 2017

June Edwards, a Slippery Rock University professor of art, was accepted into the juried exhibition "Art of Facts: Uncovering Pittsburgh Stories" at the Heinz History Center in Pittsburgh.

The exhibition of more than 50 works was organized by the Pittsburgh Society of Illustrators, one of the largest non-profit groups of illustrators in the nation. The goal of the show is to reveal Pittsburgh's distinctive history through visual narrative.

Edwards' work, a woodblock print titled "East Liberty," will be on display through Jan. 14. Her work, focusing on the history of the East Liberty area, contains images of some of the significant people, buildings and landmarks of the neighborhood.
