Meztli elected to Slippery Rock borough council

Itzi Meztli, a Slippery Rock University associate professor of English, was recently elected to a four-year term on the Slippery Rock borough council.

Meztli, who will be sworn in Jan. 2, 2018, previously served on the council in an interim role for six months in 2011 before serving a four-year term from 2012-2016.

A member of the SRU faculty since 2003 and a borough resident for the past 12 years, Meztli received 303 votes, finishing third behind two other council newcomers in Eugene Allison (335) and Russell Karl (384).
