Services provided by department faculty advisers help students identify their interests, decide on a major and understand University policies and procedures. Advisers also assist students during registration by helping them understand SRU'S Liberal and Rock Studies programs. The Department of Academic Services coordinates FYRST Seminars, Learning Community Clusters, the Majors & Minors Expo and Student Study Success Workshops.
Academic support services will be conducted online and via Zoom for students, families, alumni and prospective students. The online sessions will address all the topics our staff would offer through in-person meetings.
Tutoring Services provide qualified students from numerous academic departments for free individual and group tutoring. The primary goals of tutoring are to develop study skills and to support the classroom experience with explanation of specific course content.
Tutoring services are available to all students and may occur online, or if necessary, in person. When in-person tutoring is necessary, proper safety protocols, including required masking, physically distancing, table sneeze guards and ready-to-use cleaning supplies will be used.
