Internship Program

Internships are an excellent opportunity to test-drive a career! Internships can also aide you by demonstrating your aptitude for work, opening doors for future employment, helping further ready you for full-time employment in the field, securing professional references, and boosting your resume. CRIM majors have completed internships at various locations. Some of these include:

• U.S. Marshals Service
• U.S. Secret Service
• Department of Homeland Security
• Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers
• Pennsylvania Board of Probation & Parole
• U.S. Probation & Pretrial Services
• Police Departments (city and township) and Sheriff's Offices
• State and County Prisons
• Juvenile and Adult Probation Offices
• Alcohol and Drug Treatment Centers

While internships are not required for Criminology and Criminal Justice majors (they count as CRIM electives), students are encouraged to participate in the program by completing a 3-, 6-, 9-, or 12-credit hour internship during the fall, spring, or summer semesters. To assist students with the process, the CRIM Department has an Internship Coordinator - Dr. Ridener.
