Bachelor of Arts in Dance

Dance student performing in a red dress The Bachelor of Arts in Dance is a rigorous and comprehensive program that provides a well-rounded dance education that is compatible with other academic disciplines for students desiring a double major or a minor. Some popular double major choices include Communications, Education, Exercise Science, Psychology, Theater, Therapeutic Recreation, one of several majors in the School of Business, or any other major or minor in the student’s area of interest. The BA in Dance can be completed in four years or on a compressed 3-year accelerated schedule.

Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance

Dance student performing a high kick The Bachelor of Fine Arts in dance degree is a professional degree providing excellent dance education and advanced training in teaching, performance, and choreography, with additional components of wellness for dancers and dance technology. Students are able to customize their BFA degree by electing one of the two areas of specialization:

Performance and Choreography

BFA graduates will be prepared to pursue diverse professional performance, teaching, and choreography opportunities in entertainment and concert dance, private studio and business ownership, and administrative careers in the field.

Minor in Dance Performance

Minor in Dance Pedagogy

The Minor in Dance Pedagogy prepares students to integrate the teaching of dance into educational scenarios in the public or private sectors.
