Drop/Withdraw Information

Winter Session classes may be added or dropped until 11:59 p.m., December 14, 2023, on MySRU. Students may drop their last/only Winter Session class through their MySRU. The final drop date for a 100% refund of Winter Session tuition will be December 14. After that date, refunds for course withdrawals will follow the schedule below:

The final day to withdraw from a course with a grade of "W" is December 29, by 11:59 p.m. Students must complete a Course Withdrawal form, available on the Academic Records Forms page, prior to that deadline. The form is forwarded automatically via DocuSign to the instructor of the course for a signature and the student's last date of attendance/participation. After all necessary approvals are received, the request is forwarded to the Office of Academic Records & Registration for processing. University offices will be closed December 24-January 1. Any course withdrawals submitted during the office closure will be processed when the office reopens on January 2.

Credit/Completion Information

Students will be limited to no more than 7 credits unless an Excess Hours Form is approved by the student's advisor, department chairperson of the student's first major, and dean of the student's first major college.

Grades will be due at noon January 10, 2024, and should be available on MySRU by January 13.  Academic status will be determined before the start of spring classes on January 16, 2024.

There is no Dean's List in Winter Session. Undergraduate students in good academic standing prior to attending Winter Session will be placed on academic warning or probation if their cumulative GPA falls below a 2.00. They will not be suspended or dismissed. Undergraduate students who were on academic warning or probation prior to attending Winter Session will not be suspended or dismissed based on Winter Session academic performance.  Students who do well during Winter Session may have their academic warning or probation removed.

Graduate students in good academic standing prior to attending Winter Session will be placed on probation or suspension if their cumulative GPA falls below a 3.00.

Students finishing Winter Session will graduate in January and may participate in the December ceremony if they wish.
