SRU ranked among world’s top schools for environmental sustainability

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Slippery Rock University has been ranked among the top colleges and universities in the world for environmental sustainability. SRU ranked in the top 200 on the University of Indonesia's 2018 GreenMetric World University Rankings.

Published annually by UI GreenMetric, the program ranks colleges and universities by their commitment and action toward going green. The GreenMetric rankings are the first and only university rankings in the world that measure each participating school's dedication to developing an environmentally friendly infrastructure.

The rankings are based on six indicators:

• Setting and infrastructure.
• Energy and climate change.
• Waste.
• Water.
• Transportation and education.

A total of 719 colleges and universities from 81 countries participated in the 2018 program. Data for the rankings were collected through an online questionnaire with answers validated through evidence provided by each participating institution.
