SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Slippery Rock University has been recognized as one of the top public colleges for scholarship funding by the Student Loan Report, an online resource that "aims to cover all student loan news around the world."

The data for the ranking came from Peterson's Financial Aid dataset, which provided college-reported statistics for the academic year of 2015-16. The report analyzed more than 500 different public, four-year colleges that reported financial aid data to Peterson for the Class of 2016. Each school was ranked from highest to lowest according to average scholarship financial aid per undergraduate, and the top 250 schools made the list.

For the 2016-17 academic year, 85 percent of SRU students received a combined $28,507,069 in scholarships and grants.
