SRU commission seeks nominations for 2017 ‘Woman of Distinction’ awards

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Slippery Rock University President's Commission on Women is seeking women that demonstrate excellence, leadership and integrity in their respective fields as mentors, role models and advocates as nominees for the 2017 "Woman of Distinction" awards.

The annual awards celebrate those that have made a significant contribution to the women's community at SRU. Recipients represent five main categories: administration, faculty, staff, student and alumna.

Any individual, group or organization may act as a nominator. Nominations are due by April 14. To submit a nomination, visit the Woman of Distinction Award 2017 Nomination Form.

Winners will be honored at the annual Gender Studies Mentoring Dinner in the fall.

The Commission on Women supports all efforts to develop a University community that provides a high quality academic experience in an environment that is not only open, caring, nurturing and personal, but also fair and respectful to women. The commission leads as well as supports women's leadership and gender equity as cornerstones of the collegiate experience at the University.
