SRU art majors take part in “20/20: A Visual Dialog”

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - A group of 20 Slippery Rock University art majors will have their works on display as part of "20/20: A Visual Dialog," April 4-11 at the Associated Artists of Butler County's Art Center. The exhibition is free and open to the public. An opening reception is scheduled for 6-8 p.m., April 6.
A wide variety of two and three dimensional works - featuring metals, fibers, painting, ceramics, prints, sculpture, drawing, mixed medium and photography - have been selected for the exhibition.
According to organizers, the exhibition's title was chosen to expound upon the concept that each of the 20 student artists brings a vision and style all their own to the show. The ensuing aesthetic experience is the result of a diverse use of media and over 80 collective years of development by the group.
Participating student artists, all of whom are members of an art seminar course taught by Heather Hertel, SRU associate professor or art, include:
• Morgan Cartwright, a senior from Saint Marks;
• Kaitlin Cliber, a senior from New Kensington;
• Kaylin Clingensmith, a senior from New Castle;
• Anthony DeRosa, a senior from Slippery Rock;
• Kathryn Fitzgerald, a junior from Pittsburgh;
• Allyson Fuhs, a senior from New Castle;
• David Gordon, a senior from Mars;
• Molly Hazenstab, a senior from New Castle;
• Danielle Heltzel, a senior from Columbiana, Ohio;
• Lori Hornaman, a senior from Cambridge Springs;
• Amanda Jamison, a senior from Aliquippa;
• Jamie Mulac, a junior from Indiana;
• Erin Oulton, a senior from Aurora, Ohio;
• Alyssa Pauletich, a junior from West Pittsburg;
