SRU’s English, history and mathematics online master’s programs earn national rankings

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - A trio of Slippery Rock University's online master's degrees - English, history and math - have been ranked among the top 20 programs in the country by affordablecollegesonline.org.
SRU's online master's program in English was ranked 19th; history, 12th; and math, 19th.
"Online master's programs represent the fastest-growing level of distance learning today," said Greg Beatty of affordablecollegesonline.org. "Colleges and universities everywhere continue to add online master's that cater to both traditional students and to working adults. Some of these institutions, including SRU, offer higher quality and more flexible options than their peers, along with affordable cost structures and a wealth of student support services."
- Institutions were scored on the following metrics:
- Number of online master's degrees available
- Graduate tuition and fees
- Academic and career counseling services
- Job placement for graduates
- AC Online Peer-Based Value (PBV)*
PBV is a proprietary metric used by affordablecollegesonline.org that compares the cost of a program to the cost of other programs with the same or similar qualitative score. It also compares the qualitative score of the program to the score of other programs with the same or similar cost.
