SRU President Cheryl Norton and SGA President Logan Steigerwalt encourage everyone to wear their Rock gear April 26 to help celebrate National College Signing Day and the second anniversary of Reach Higher.

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Michelle Obama, first lady of the United States, is asking all college students, faculty, staff and those that support higher education to help celebrate National College Signing Day and the second anniversary of Reach Higher.

"I want to see pictures of students, their family and friends that represent their favorite college with the hashtag #ReachHigher," she said. "I can't wait to see (and retweet) your posts."

"We started this tradition in May 2014 when we launched our Reach Higher initiative to encourage students to complete their education beyond high school. People across the country helped us mark the first Signing Day by sporting their college apparel and sharing the importance of higher education on social media," Obama said.

Members of The Rock nation are encouraged to wear their SRU gear April 26, take a photo, then post to Twitter tagging the handles @FLOTUS and @ReachHigher; or to Instagram tagging @MichelleObama or @ReachHigher2020.

Be sure to use the hashtag #ReachHigher.

"I encourage everyone throughout the University - faculty, staff and students - to wear their Rock gear April 26 and take Twitter and Instagram by storm," said SRU President Cheryl Norton. "Let's show the first lady, if not the world, that SRU Rocks."
