The Rocket earns ASPA awards

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - The Rocket - the independent, student newspaper serving Slippery Rock University - has been recognized by the American Scholastic Press Association with two awards for 2015-16. It earned a first place with special merit award for colleges with enrollment over 2,501 and an award for outstanding sports coverage for its "PSAC Wars" basketball section.

With the ASPA awards, The Rocket has received 54 local, regional and national awards for the 2015-2016 school year.
