SRU named one of Pennsylvania’s best colleges

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Slippery Rock University has been named one of Pennsylvania's best four-year colleges by Schools.com, which describes itself as "a definitive source for education information that prides itself in connecting current and prospective students with the tools, resources, people and schools they need to help them advance in life."

To determine the rankings, Schools.com researched the most recent data available from government forces with data points that included:

-The in-state tuition and fees for full-time undergraduates.
-The estimated cost of books and supplies.
-The average net price for students receiving Title IV grant and scholarship aid.
-The average net price for low-income students receiving Title IV grant and scholarship aid.
-The average amount of institutional grant aid awarded to full-time, first-time undergraduate students as a percentage of in-state tuition and fees.
-Median debt of graduates.
-Three-year student loan repayment rate of graduates.
-Number of degree and certificate programs offered.
-Number of degree and certificate programs offered via distance education.
-Percent of students enrolled in any distance education classes.
-Average retention rate for full-time and part-time students.
-Six-year graduation rate.
-Flexibility and student services.

Schools.com recognized SRU for its low graduate debt load; its online degree program options; and streamlined transfer process for community college students
