SRU master’s degree in history named ‘most affordable’

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Slippery Rock University has been named a 2017 "Most Affordable Online College for a Master's in History" by onlineu.org, a free and comprehensive online guide from SR Education Group, that allows students to compare all online colleges in the country.

To determine the rankings, OnlineU researched accredited colleges offering online degrees across 29 programs, including: psychology, management and education. In order to be considered for a given list, schools were required to offer at least one fully online degree at the master's level within the subject of the ranking.

For the 1072 colleges that met the criteria for inclusion, OnlineU completed further research into online degree offerings. The schools were then ranked according to annual tuition rates, specific to each program at each school. A total of 376 colleges made the lists.

Of the 13 online history programs considered, SRU ranked third. With an annual tuition rate of $7,965, the University was lauded for "exceptional affordability and recognized for its accreditation with the Middle Sates Commission on Higher Education."

SRU's 30-credit, online master's degree in history provides an advanced study of American, European and world history while preparing students for challenging careers in diverse fields such as education, law, government, military, industry and private and public business. The program also serves as a launch pad for students pursuing a doctoral degree in history.
