SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — Slippery Rock University's council of trustees, at a special meeting Sept. 11, approved naming Strain Safety Building Room 211 the 70E Solutions General Industry Lab.

70E Solutions, founded by the Michael Wright family in 2005, is an electrical safety supply company and a NAIL certified test facility that tests electrical protective products. 70E Solutions serves the electrical safety industry by providing protective equipment, equipment testing, NFPA 70E training and expert advice.

In support of SRU's safety management program, 70E Solutions donated gifts totaling $360,750. The donation includes personal protection equipment, online arc flash protection training, and on-site training. The online training will serve students enrolled in SRU's Legislative Compliance-General Industry course each year for up to five years. 70E Solutions will offer onsite training at its Butler facility for SRU students each year for up to five years.

Four other spaces in SSB were previously named in honor of program donors at an Aug. 16 special meeting of the trustees. The spaces will formally be unveiled Sept. 27 as part of the trustee's regularly scheduled Sept. 26-27 meeting.

The trustees took no additional action at the special meeting.
