SRU announces tenure appointments, promotions

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Slippery Rock University officials today announced faculty tenure and promotions effective with the fall 2016 semester.

Earning tenure were:

  • Melanie Anderson, School of Business;
  • Larry Breitenstein, public health and social work;
  • Jane Hale, counseling and development;
  • Brock Jensen, exercise and rehabilitative services;
  • David Kershaw, political science;
  • Stephen Larson, School of Business;
  • Christopher Leininger, parks and recreation;
  • Timothy Oldakowski, English; and
  • Steven Verba, exercise and rehabilitative services.
  • Promoted from instructor to assistant professor:
  • Lorraine Craven, academic services.

Promoted from assistant professor to associate professor:

  • Angela Bernardo, safety management;
  • Gisela Dieter, modern languages and cultures;
  • Matthew Erickson, special education;
  • Jason Hilton, secondary education and foundations of education;
  • Stacy Hrizo, biology;
  • Brock Jensen, exercise and rehabilitative services;
  • David Kershaw, political science;
  • Jason Kush, music;
  • Stephen Larson, School of Business;
  • Jeremy Lynch, special education;
  • Kathleen Melago, music;
  • Melissa Nard-Mitchell, counseling and development;
  • Timothy Oldakowski, English;
