SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Slippery Rock University's music department faculty will present their 7th annual Faculty Collaborative Recital at 12:30 p.m., Oct. 12 at SRU's Swope Recital Hall.

"This gives us the chance to perform together while modeling proper performance etiquette for our students, who will begin their Performance Hour performances next week," said Kathleen Melago, associate professor of music education. "We really enjoy the opportunity to get together and perform pieces we might otherwise not get the chance to play. For example, I am looking forward to performing Ian Clarke's work, "Maya," for two flutes and piano with Cassandra Eisenreich and Glenn Utsch."

The recital will include:

-"Prelude No. 1 in C Major" by York Bowen and performed on piano by Glenn Utsch, assistant professor of music.
-"Maya" by Ian Clarke and performed on flute by Cassandra Eisenreich, instructor of music, and Melago, with piano accompaniment by Utsch.
-"Cinco Canciones Populares Argentinas" by Alberto Ginastera and performed on piano by Nanette Kaplan Solomon, faculty emerita, with vocal accompaniment by Colleen Gray, professor of music.
-"Steam" by Chelsea Komschlies and performed on piano by Eisenreich and clarinet by Candice Kiser, instructor of music.
-"Pierrot's Tanzlied" by Erich Konhold and "Marry Me a Little" by Stephen Sondheim and performed on piano by Utsch with vocal accompaniment by Christopher Scott, assistant professor of music.
-Overture to "Candide" by Leonard Bernstein and performed on piano by Solomon and guest artist Iris Kaplan Rosenthal.
