SRU’s sport management program ranked one of the country’s best

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Slippery Rock University's bachelor's degree in sport management has been ranked as one of the 30 best programs in the U.S. by Sports Management Degree Guide.

The SMDG is an online guide to sport management degree programs around the country and includes listings as to the most affordable and best online programs.

The rankings were compiled by SMDG staff in consultation with the North American Society for Sport Management. Schools were ranked based up:

• Student-to-faculty ratios
• Undergraduate net cost
• Graduation rates
• Accreditations

Only schools with Commission on Sport Management Accreditation were considered.

SRU ranked No. 10 on the list with a student-to-faculty ratio of 22:1, an average net price of $17,557 per year and an overall graduation rate of 66 percent. SRU was the first accredited sport management program in the country and focuses heavily on experiential learning, encouraging students to gain hands on experience through internships with major league franchises including the Pittsburgh Steelers, Miami Dolphins and Florida Panthers.
