SRU's University Program Board staged its annual "Seasons of Giving" event Dec. 7 in the Smith Student Center Ballroom. As part of the event, students, faculty and staff were invited to support the U.S. Marines annual Toys for Tots campaign through a donation of toys, books and other age-appropriate gifts for less fortunate children. Autism Speaks U at SRU, a campus organization devoted to autism advocacy, was accepting sensory toys including fidget spinners, stuffed animals, snow globes, Play-Doh, kinetic sand and texture books for the benefit of the Watson Institute, a special education school in Allegheny County. Other activities included: holiday-themed novelties; ornament painting; a holiday village; Project Christmas Elf drop off; and cookie decorating.
