Four Slippery Rock University physical and health education professors have co-authored an article that was published in a recent issue of the Journal of Physical Education, Recreation & Dance.

Led by Hannah Brewer, assistant professor, the article titled "Preparing Physical and Health Education Teacher Candidates to Create a Culture of Wellness in Schools: New Curriculum, New Message," considers a new model for teacher preparation that is based on inspiring youth to build healthy behaviors that last a lifetime. The authors, who also included Randall Nicholas, professor; Joanne Leight, professor; and Gary Clark, assistant professor, profile school-to-community wellness programs and describes various elements of program curriculum that cultivate a holistic approach to wellness in schools.
