Mason honored as an "Outstanding Teacher"

Elizabeth Mason, a Slippery Rock University doctoral student in special education from Etters, has been honored as an "Outstanding Teacher" by the Shippensburg University School Study Council.

Mason, who earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education and special education from SRU in 2010, is a learning support teacher at Wilson Middle School in the Carlisle Area School District. She served as a guest lecturer at a Shippensburg University education class as part of the recognition.

The SUSSC's mission is to improve instruction and enhance collaboration with its members that include regional school districts and educational service agencies. The Outstanding Teachers program is part of SUSSC's goals of recognizing outstanding instruction selected from and by its membership.
