Allison Kronyak, a Slippery Rock University senior recreational therapy major from Wood Ridge, New Jersey, was awarded the 2019 New Jersey Recreation and Park Association Student Scholarship.

The $1,000 competitive scholarship provides opportunities for university and high school students to advance their education in the field of parks, recreation, conservation and leisure services through both scholarship and a professional development support program. The NJRPA is a nonprofit, volunteer professional organization that supports park, recreation and natural resources management programs in New Jersey.

Kronyak, president of the Recreational Therapy Club at SRU, will put the scholarship toward expenses associated with her upcoming summer internship as a recreational therapist at the Sterling Estates Senior Living Community in Marietta, Georgia.
