Slippery Rock University was one of 39 post-secondary institutions in Pennsylvania to receive an "It's On Us PA" grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Education. "It's On Us PA" is a statewide campaign to end sexual assault, building off the momentum of the national "It's On Us" movement to reframe the conversation around sexual violence and having people pledge to be part of the solution.

Colleges and universities applied for the funding to establish or expand programs that include: training for students, faculty and staff; institutional campaigns to raise awareness of sexual assault; improving reporting and response structures; and building momentum to create sustained changes to campus culture.

SRU received $8,577, which, according to project director David Wilmes, associate provost for student success, will be used for posters, a partnership with campus media and giveaways for students. Wilmes said the goal is to make sure that more students know about issues of sexual assault and what they can do to protect themselves and others.
