Dallas Jackson, a Slippery Rock University associate professor of physical and health education, was named Adapted Physical Education University Teacher of the Year by the Pennsylvania State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.

The PSAHPERD Teacher of the Year program honors a person who has demonstrated exceptional teaching and leadership in the field at all teaching levels, while the Adapted Physical Education award recognizes significant contributions to the promotion of physical activity to individuals with disabilities. Jackson will be recognized for this achievement at the PSAHPERD's annual convention Nov. 8-10 at Seven Springs Mountain Resort in Champion.

The PSAHPERD is a volunteer-run organization that provides leadership, advocacy and professional development to health and physical educators in Pennsylvania.
