Handshake Information and Instructions:

Handshake is Slippery Rock University's new on campus student employment platform. If you are responsible for hiring students in your department, please create an employer account and follow the instructions provided below to create a job listing.

New Student Employees

Your supervisor will send us a New Hire Form and we will email you a link to the Payroll Packet along with instructions for your clearances. The first page of the packet has instructions for each form. Save the packet to your computer first. Please follow the instructions carefully, including the instructions for clearances that will be in the email we send you.

Clearances: Instructions and payment codes will be emailed to you after we receive the New Hire Form from your supervisor. If you already have your own clearances, we can accept them up to 5 years old. The State does not allow us to accept volunteer clearances for an employment position.

Hiring Student Employees

New Hire Forms or Add Department Forms should be emailed to payroll@sru.edu or faxed to 724.738.4463. Once we receive the New Hire form, we will email your student the Payroll Packet and Clearance Application information.

STUDENT ON CAMPUS VOLUNTEERS

SRU students volunteering for an on campus event: Complete the following forms (links) and bring them to the Payroll Office, 203 Old Main. Fingerprinting registration will be completed in the Payroll Office if applicable. SRU student employees do not need to complete separate volunteer clearances.

If you already have clearances: We can accept copies if they are less than 5 years old. We need FBI Fingerprint Results, PA Criminal Background Check and Child Abuse Clearance.
