University Marketing and Communication exists to enhance and amplify the messages of those Slippery Rock University students, faculty members, staffers, colleges and departments that are doing incredible things. SRU is a treasure chest of expertise, research successes and tales of personal triumph.
Those are stories worth telling and sharing.
A key element in any marketing effort is news coverage. SRU's media relations professionals are constantly seeking ways to generate coverage that will enhance the University's image locally, regionally and nationally.
We invite you to contact us with information about your research, exceptional students and special events. While we can't promise coverage of every event, we will assess the newsworthiness of activities and depending on the story and timing, may do one of the following:
- Write a story for the University's website or The ROCK magazine.
- Pitch the story to a reporter or producer.
- Write and distribute a news release.
- Promote the story as part of a trend (something happening in higher education across the state, for example).
