Three representatives from Slippery Rock University presented at the National Campus Compact Conference, April 7-10, in Denver, Colorado. Christine Walsh, an SRU associate professor of elementary education and early childhood development, Douglas Strahler, an SRU associate professor of strategic communication and media, and Jeffrey Rathlef, SRU director for community-engaged learning, presented a research paper titled “Service-Learning Faculty Learning communities as a Path Forward for Institutional Change.”

The presentation detailed how SRU's model for community-engaged learning has quadrupled in growth among community-engaged faculty and courses at the University since 2018.

The National Campus Compact Conference is one of the largest national conferences focused on building healthy communities and fostering a just and equal democracy through higher education.
