Slippery Rock University's council of trustees will meet March 21-22, in the Russell Wright Alumni House and Conference Center, for its regular quarterly meeting.

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. — Slippery Rock University's council of trustees will meet March 21-22, in the Russell Wright Alumni House and Conference Center. Committee meetings are scheduled for both days. The quarterly business meeting is at 10 a.m., March 22. For those who wish to attend the meetings but are unable to do so in person, a Zoom option is available with advanced registration. All meetings are open to the public.

Scheduled committee meetings include:

  • Academic and Student Affairs, 2:30-3:15 p.m., March 21.
  • Finance and Administrative Affairs, 3:30-4:30 p.m., March 21.
  • University Advancement, 8:30-9 a.m., March 22.
  • Governance, 9-9:45 a.m., March 22.

The agenda for the Academic and Student Affairs Committee includes presentations from the following administrators from their respective areas:

  • Michael Zieg, provost and vice president for academic affairs.
  • Anthony Jones, chief diversity officer.
  • Amanda Yale, chief enrollment management officer.
  • David Wilmes, chief student affairs officer.

The agenda for the Finance and Administrative Affairs Committee includes:

  • A financial update by Carrie Birckbichler, vice president for finance and administration.
  • Action items regarding the capital budget and student fees.
  • Information items regarding contracts, purchases, financial reports, facilities and planning projects, human resources personnel items and a divisional report.

The agenda for the University Advancement Committee includes presentations from the following administrators from their respective areas:

  • Erin Bryer, interim vice president of university advancement.
  • Kelly Bailey, director of alumni engagement.
  • Dave Hollenbaugh, executive director of the SRU Foundation, Inc., with Mark Palmer, chair, SRU Foundation Board of Directors, providing the foundation's quarterly report.

The agenda for the Governance Committee includes:

  • A review of the student trustee selection process by Cierra Mitchell, student trustee and chair of the selection committee.
  • Nomination of council officers for academic year 2024-25.
  • Information items regarding upcoming events and a review of council bylaws.

At the quarterly business meeting, the council will hear the President's Report, receive reports from its standing committees, and review human resources personnel items, budget/finance updates and divisional reports. The council will also receive a presentation about name, image and likeness aid for student-athletes from Roberta Page, director of athletics, and Andrea Grady, assistant director of athletics and senior women's administrator.

Scheduled action items include:

  • Commendations honoring the services of Yale, Mitchell and former trustee Suzanne Vessella.
  • Vote on the University's capital budget submissions for fiscal year 2024-25.
  • Naming resolution for the Samantha Swift Memorial Golf Outing.
  • Vote on proposal auxiliary student fees.
