Biology Department Events
The Department of Biology at Slippery Rock University sponsors/hosts a number of events throughout the year for students, faculty, staff and the community. These include, but are not restricted to seminars, career information sessions, fall freshman social, spring graduate social, and induction banquets. A summary of upcoming events appears below when available.
The 2018 Spring seminars will be held on selected Fridays at 4:40 pm in Vincent Science Cener room 116 with the exception of Dr. Hrizo's talk on Thursday February 8th at 12:30 pm. Presentations include:
Dr. Stacy Hrizo, Slippery Rock University, on February 8th at 12:30 pm - Using RNAi to examine the factors involved in protein quality control.
Dr. Jackie Shane, Duquesne University, on February 23rd at 4:40 pm - Engineering the mosquito microbiome to inhibit the transmission of malaria.
Dr. David Costello, Kent State University, on March 9th at 4:40 pm - Macro- and micro-nutrient control of algae in Great Lakes ecosystems.
