Slippery Rock University’s Feb. 21-22 Opportunity Knocks program hoped to help more than 50 underrepresented minority students from Pennsylvania and Ohio choose SRU as their future home of higher education. The overnight program gave attendees a taste of academic, social and residential life. In addition to a luau dinner, talent show, lunch with a professor and panel discussion with current SRU students, attendees were able to take advantage of a ceramics class. Information about scholarship and financial aid opportunities, service-learning opportunities and athletics was also presented.
