SGA Bookstore schedules April 5 Graduation Celebration

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - Slippery Rock University students who are scheduled to graduate in May will be able to pick up their commencement tickets and purchase regalia, diploma frames, class rings and other items during the SGA Bookstore's Graduation Celebration from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., April 5, in the Smith Student Center Ballroom.

Seniors who purchase an SRU ring will receive their cap and gown for free.

The fair will give students several opportunities to make connections. The SRU alumni association will distribute zipper pulls to candidates, collect future job information and distribute medallions to magna cum laude graduates. Graduating seniors will be able to join the alumni association. Representatives from the Office of Career Education and Development will be on hand to offer job-search advice.

SRU's graduate student commencement is at 7 p.m., May 6. The doors will open at 6 p.m. No tickets are required for the graduate student commencement.

Undergraduates in the College of Health, Environment and Science and the College of Liberal Arts will graduate at 10 a.m., May 7. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. Undergraduates in the College of Business and the College of Education will graduate at 2 p.m., May 7. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. Tickets for all guests, including children, are required for both undergraduate ceremonies. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

All commencement ceremonies are in Morrow Field House.

Each undergraduate candidate that applied prior to March 1 is allowed four guest tickets. Students unable to pick up their tickets April 5 at the Graduation Celebration can pick them up from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., April 11-20, in 201 Old Main or at a special Saturday distribution from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., April 9, in the Smith Student Center. The final day to pick up tickets is April 20. No tickets will be mailed. ID is required to pick up tickets.

Overflow seating (no ticket required) is available in the Alumni House, Advanced Technology and Science Hall Auditorium and the Smith Student Center Theatre.
