Bean honored as PSAHPERD teacher of the year

Shawn Bean, a 2011 Slippery Rock University graduate with a master's degree in education, was named the 2018 High School Physical Education Teacher of the Year by the Pennsylvania State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.

Bean is a health and physical education teacher at Cranberry High School in Venango County. He was recognized by PSAHPERD for being outstanding with regard to his knowledge, application of pedagogy and contributions to the profession.

The PSAHPERD Teacher of the Year program honors people who have demonstrated exceptional teaching and leadership in the field at all teaching levels. PSAHPERD is a volunteer-run organization that provides leadership, advocacy and professional development to health and physical educators in Pennsylvania.
