Joseph Harry, a Slippery Rock University associate professor of communication, has had two articles accepted for publication in The Sage Encyclopedia of Journalism, 2nd Edition.

The first article covers media bias, and concludes that notions of journalistic bias may have to be reevaluated in the age of politically affiliated news outlets and other publications purposely promoting "fake news." The second article is on the rise of source quotation in journalism in the last 150 years. Harry concludes that quotation, which emerged as part of modern journalism's occupational goal of demonstrating fairness, accuracy and objectivity, eventually became and remains journalism's fundamental narrative device.

The Sage Encyclopedia of Journalism is a research-reference publication targeted at undergraduate and graduate students interested in studying all aspects of journalism.
